I went to Canten as instructed on 8th January

1926. I made enquiries on lines instructed and found a s follows:-

1. The mumber of Hussian Bolsheviks, at present in Canton

is 144 (men only). There is no trace of active women agents. Of this number 68 live at Tung Shan, 35 at Whampoa and 41 including 3 aviators vho are on the Chinese gunboats. Each Chinese regiment has two Russian Military instructers.

2. The head of the Forces Military is known as General

Gallent, Hia real name is Galinin aged about 45, formerly an officer in the Russian Imperial Aruy. At the present moment he is in Peking but is expected to return shortly.

3. Kie A.D.0. er Secretary is Mr. Carin also formerly of

the Russian Imperial Army.

4. The head of the Forces Naval is Mr. Seminoff aged about 40 fermerly of the Russian Imperial Navy. Lives in Tung Shan.

5. Military Adviser to General Cheung Kai Shak is Russian

named Shelarin formerly a General in the Russian Imperial Army.

6. The head of the Soviets in South China is named Borodin; he holds authority as an Ambassador over all the Russians

7. The Official Soviet Consul, U.S.S.R. Consulate, is

named Wosmoff¡ he is also manager of the Soviet controll- ed Russian Oil Konopoly (Petroleum Department of the U.S.S.R. Trade Mission); he is taking the place of Hermann, former Consul, who is expected back from leave

shortly.
